NEW VIDEO OF HURRICANE EARL POSTED.
I'm a day late this week due to the video clips of EARL that I had to edit. But the good news is the video is done. It's at the top of this page. It came out pretty good all things considering. I used the BEATIFUL PEOPLE soundtrack. I love that CD. It's basically sampling of many of JMH sound bites meticulously edited into some really cool, new sounding songs by the master, James Marshall Hendrix. The first time I heard this back in the 90's I freaked out.
So yeah, I've used it before, but it's been so long, I thought I could slip it in under the radar and give it a fresh new feel and listen. Especially to those who have never heard it before. It still sounds remarkably new and contemporary.
The video frame grab above is Casey Lockwood. He actually made two of this AIRS this morning.
This is Mike Stanek and this is a VFG from the BEST barrel of the video. He got so deep into this sand sucking Wall barrel, that I honestly didn't think he was going to make it. But if you watch the video, you will clearly see that not only did he make it out, but he had enough speed and momentum to attempt a vertical lip bash. But that's Stanek in a nut shell. He is still one of the BEST surfers in all of New England.
I shot this VFG of Becca Speak on Friday morning. This was the first pic/video that I shot of Becca in quite sometime. She had been dealing with a head injury for the last couple of years. She's currently riding a longer board and she has taken to wearing a helmet. Two good moves on her part. Some of you will remember Becca from my 2018 movie GRANITE GIRLS.
The thing about Hurricanes is they bring everyone out from all over. Like this guy. Jeff Denholm flew in from the west coast to surf EARL. Jeff is a true warrior. He lost his hand in a fishing
boat accident many years ago. But that never slowed him down. He had this custom paddle made to fit his arm and he's not skipped a beat in all the years I've known him. Great guy and a good friend who has surfed bigger waves than I have ever even dreamed of.
This is Tyler Moore's first wave after being injured the day before up in Maine. What you can't see or hear is Tyler screaming his bloody head off as he navigates his way through the inside section of this EARL left.

This is Tyler at the end of his ride. Note the double Bird Salute. Because this was taken on the morning of 9-11, I think this was Tyler's salute to Al Qeada.

They called it the CINNAMON RAINBOWS POP UP SHOP.
And judging by the crowds on both days it was quite successful.

From the Ed O'Connell galleries. This has been posted before, but because this is one of my all time favorite Ed pics I decided to run it again. This is Johnny "JIM" Meehan surfing his favorite left. Which has now become (ironically) his favorite right. Thank you Ed. Photo by Ed O'Connell

NOW FOR SOME LOCAL AND NATIONAL NEWS
Thanks again to your generous donations, as we are now closing in on $50K. Like I said last week, I know that I speak on behalf of the entire staff at Cinnamon Rainbows, when I say, "Thank You from the bottom of our hearts."
It's been humbling for all of the staff at Cinnamon Rainbows. Because of you, there's light at the end of the tunnel. And it gets even better, there's going to be another HURRICANE coming our way. HURRICANE FIONA will be here by the weekend. Yew!
Again, Mahalo my brothers and sisters who made such generous donations. You guys are the freaking best!

This is a photo of the front door of the shop. Hampton Fire Department did one hell of a job saving CR's from complete destruction. We wish they could have saved SECRET SPOT and The NORTH BEACH Bar & GRILLE but the fire was already too engulfed at both of those businesses. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers too.

THE PATRIOTS are now 1-1 for the season.
The Patriots played the Steelers yesterday afternoon and looked pretty damn good. Not as good as the BILLS or The DOLPHINS but good enough to say, we're in the hunt. The Patriots won 17-14. My prediction was 16-14. I was pretty damn close.
Last week when QUEEN ELIZABETH II passed away, I was in my front yard looking at my 30' flagpole, and wondering, "When will I have to lower the flag to half mast?" Later that day, I heard about the passing of the queen, and then I heard that the President ordered that all flags to be flown at half mast.
I swear.
You can't make this stuff up.
Our flag lowered to half mast.
"Grief is the price we pay for love."

KSM Photoshop of the Week
Seeing how much attention the immigrants on Martha's Vineyard were getting last weekend, Ole Khaliddy tried to get in on the act. He somehow managed to get his ass on the island and tried to slip in with the immigrants. But the good folks at Martha's Vineyard can smell a rat a mile away. They picked up on what KSM was doing. He was turning this political fiasco into a bigger political fiasco. So before you knew it, Ole SHEIK YER BOOTY was getting bounced out the picture. He never got a tee shirt or an autograph. Hell, he never got in on a group hug. Instead he was put on the first ferry and shipped to Cape Cod where he was apprehended and brought back to GITMO. Dumb ass.
And so my friends, please take advantage of this weekly photo shop of the mastermind who planned 9-11 and resulted in the deaths of 3,000 innocent civilians by KSM (Khalid Sheik Mohammed).
*Note to self -must pick up a case of Martha's Vineyard's souvenirs at Home Depot this week.
PLEASE HELP Hampton LIFEGUARD

Yesterday- THIRTY ONE YEARS AGO. 9-14-91
(Below) 31 years ago, we brought Max to the Wall before we took him home.
I wanted him to smell and hear the ocean first. *And all you surfers, check out that left reeling off the sandbar. Nobody knew at the time, that he’d end up being a Goofyfoot. For you non-surfers, “Goofyfoots” face the wave when going left. Happy 31st Birthday Mackey. We all love you

I kept a daily Blog on my CATCH A WAVE FOR MOLLY surf campaign, when I surfed every single day for 365 consecutive days. Click on the Banner above to read entries of my daily journey. There's some really interesting and true experiences
that happened during that year. Some of which are to this day, unexplainable. Some are just mind blowing. But all true.
I started on July 26th, 2010 and ended on July 26th, 2011.
Some rainy Sunday, pour yourself a cup and go through the journal.
Pay close attention to the month of May in 2011. Read that month and let me know what you think of that. Be forewarned it will change you forever.
