Every week I approach this blog with one main concept on my mind. That is to share with you all, the small world of Surfing here in Northern New England, and at times, the surf in other parts of our immense surf globe. I try to keep it as close to the heart of Northern New England as possible. For example, last week's Hurricane column. Where I had several local photographers and surfers comment on their best ever Hurricane memory and why?And I don't know about you guys but, I thought they all did a great job. I was impressed.

It was neat to read and hear (using your imagination) the personal first hand accounts of these tropical storms and why they mattered to them. Ed O'Connell, Stevie O'Hara, Kevin Grondin, Mike Paugh, Brian Nevins, and Dave Cropper all had something to say. Some more than others, but I really found myself getting a kick out of hearing what they had to say.

Then of course others weighed in. Some emailed me, while others Facebooked me saying that I was wrong about certain names and dates. I of course had to re-educate them about the simple knowledge that they (those who name hurricanes) have named and renamed Hurricanes over the years using the same names. Don't know why they do that. Lord knows we have enough names to go around.

I mean can you imagine a Hurricane Ralph? Come on now. Think about that.

If we ever have a year on the Atlantic coast and we get down to the "R's" we are having one hell of a year. And really, with all the names available why wouldn't we have a storm named RALPH? Maybe because they know that I might become intolerable? Hurricane Ralph? That would be almost too much for my close personal friends and family to handle. Especially if "HURRICANE RALPH" turned into a classic storm that produced perfect surf to all of the East Coast. Shit, if that were to happen, I might consider running for office. Except I would create my own Party.

The hell with the Republicans! Damn the Democrats! And take a hike you Tea Party cult! I would name my new party the BLUE GREEN party. What do you think? The first REAL surfer to run for president. The Blue Green Party. Sound good? Yea, you're all probably right. It's a bad idea...besides who wants to be in politics? You'd have to be crazy to want that and be in that crazy ass arena anyway.

Speaking of crazy. I had the absolute craziest, and most stressful day on Friday.

I got up early to go on a photo shoot when I checked my email. That's when it happened. A good friend had asked me to write a testimonial on his behalf on a website. I obliged and was in the process of writing a flattering testimonial when a pop-up popped up and said the most dreaded words of all PC users...

"YOUR COMPUTER IS INFECTED. CLICK HERE TO REMOVE VIRUS!"

I immediately tried to "X" out of the pop-up, but later learned that by "X"ing out is how you activate the virus. That was the start of a day that kept me on Tech Support from 9AM to 11:30PM. I know most of you PC users can relate to this nightmare. I hate the fact that there are people on this planet who are intelligent enough to do amazingly wonderful things with their lives yet they choose to cause and wreak havoc on people they don't know. I can't tell you how many times I sat there and watched my PC freeze up and just meltdown thinking the whole time that some stranger did this to me.

I mean it would be one thing if it was someone I had slammed in my blog. You know some old SUP guy or something. I could almost justify that. Or someone else. Like...oh I don't know, who do I slam on a regular basis? There's the President of IRAN, there's Kadaffy Duck in Libya, and of course there's the TALIBAN and Al QEADA. I could see if it was any of them. Though I certainly wouldn't lump in the SUP guys with Terrorists. But honestly? The people who create Computer Viruses are Terrorists. They are the most vile and disgusting individuals on this beautiful green earth besides the real terrorists.

What I wouldn't give to have my own unmanned Predator Drone.

Something where I could launch myself and go after these Internet Terrorists. Can't you just picture that? Some asshole sitting in a dark room somewhere writing the code and programming to destroy our machines, when this Predator hovers outside his window. He opens the window to get a better look when the thing launches into his room and just vaporizes him and his evil code. Now there's a movie.

VIRUS KILLER the true story how America wiped out the mastermind behind the dreaded Computer Viruses. I'd love to see that movie.

The Virus by the way is called OPEN CLOUD SECURITY. It is nasty.

The tech guy I was speaking with today was in India. He was very nice. Though a little short of putting together sentences in English. First of all, he could not say Ralph without adding several R's before my name. It sounded kind of cool after a while. But at one point he asked where I was. I told him. Then he said " Rrrralph I'm hoping that the weather is getting cold for you." I was like..."You hope that my weather is getting cold?" "Yes Rrrralph...that is what I am hoping..." I thought to myself who does this guy think he's talking to? Brian Nevins? I mean I like the Fall, and I don't mind the winter, but I'm not just yet ready for cold weather.

I thanked him because he was very methodical in killing the Virus. Though he was amusing as he did his accurate assassinating of the virus. He had complete control of my PC. Using his Remote access from Mcafee. It was fascinating to watch. And his comments kept it amusing. "See he is hiding in here. And he is in here. What I am doing now Rrrrralph is I am removing the virus from your computer. Can you see that Rrrrralph?" "Yes Amin, I see that. I am happy to see you destroy this virus." "Yes Rrralph you are happy to see me do this."

The whole process took only minutes to perform. This after spending hours with the DELL people. I have McAfee Anti Virus software and I ended up calling them. I figured the Virus people have a better handle on killing a virus than the computer guys. Trust me. If any of you PC users get hit with a Virus, do yourselves a big favor and just contact the Virus Software Tech support. Save yourself the time and energy. That's the line of work they are in. Killing stuff. It's worth the money.

Though I am not fully out of the woods just yet.

I had them kill enough of the virus so I could finish my weekly blog. And they and the DELL people all suggested that I back up all of my data onto another drive. I did that all day yesterday. I just needed to get this column/blog up for you Sunday and Monday readers. Because there is a slight chance that my Machine may crash when I go back to have McAfee remove the last worm. And what that means is...I have to reinstall the whole operating system. And that my friends, sucks.

But for the 31,502 weekly readers in 99 countries...you can read this week's blog before my entire world comes crashing down. Say a prayer for me please.
