REFLECTIONS OF VETERANS DAY 11-11-23.
CHACHI LOPRETTE'S BEATLES SHOW.
JIMMY DUNN IS ON THE NEW FRAISER!
PATRIOTS ARE ALL DONE.
The best thing about going to the schools here on the seacoast is I get to see my grandkids. Here I am at the Dover Garrison Elementary school with my daughter Gabby and my granddaughter Reighlynn. They had a great assembly. There were about 20 vets attending.
And I got to see my other granddaughter Brylee.
And the very next day I got to see Malia in Hampton as I stopped by the Marston School. I used to see all my kids when they went to Marston. I have such fond memories of those days.
On Friday November 10th, 2023 it was the 248 Birthday of the United States Marines. I never miss the local Marine Corps Birthdays.
We always have bagpipes. He plays the Marine Corps Hymn and a few other choice selections.
The oldest marine present was Bill Schuler. I love this young Marine.
Me, Richie Sawyer, and Jed Carpentier. Three Marines.

Ed O'Connell was one of the most loved surf photographers in New England. A US ARMY Vietnam Veteran who saved the lives of so many ARMY Grunts in Nam in 68-69 as a Medic on board those Dust Off Hueys.
He was a dear friend of mine.
When he passed on July 1st, 2014 I swore I'd keep his memory and legacy alive by giving him this weekly corner. He loved surfing and he loved taking photos of all the surfers. Not just those who could really stand out. He shot every one. As long as I shall live and breathe the salt air, there will be a corner dedicated to Ed.
ED'S CORNER November 12th, 2023
This was Ed's world in Vietnam. The early morning fog had yet to burn off. l would imagine these peaceful scenes in the mornings for Ed were his most relaxed. Because in between he was flying in those Dust Off choppers picking up the wounded and dead grunts on the battlefields. Ed was in the thick o0f it over there.

COMING THIS WINTER (December-January). The long awaited book that I have been writing the last 10 years or so. Yes, there will be a book signing. And I will let you all know in advance, where and when. The book will be available in both hard cover and soft cover on AMAZON, BARNES & NOBLE, INGRAM, GOOGLE BOOKS, and KOBO PUBLISHING.
It's been a long time coming. I'm pretty stoked about this project.
72 years in the making. So please be patient with me and stay tuned. The book is coming. It's just taking longer than I had originally anticipated. But it's coming.
Most of my close friends have heard some of these stories first hand. But trust me, with over 100 stories, there's a handful that none of you have ever heard. It's true. Be patient my friends. It's all coming in the fall of 2023. Just in time for the holidays.

Anyone who knows me that I am a huge BEATLES fan. Before any of my other favorite bands like KING'S X, the CARS, HENDRIX, SRV, and every other band I ever loved. The BEATLES will always be the BEST Band that ever lived and played music. Nobody comes close to them. NOBODY. Not the Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, you name it. None of them come close. I'm speaking of course about my own personal opinion.
Ironically I wrote a song two years ago called "EVERY NOW AND THEN" and I had wanted to record it, but now with this new Beatles song? I guess I'll just have to shelve it. Maybe I'll still record it for my own library.
PATRIOTS LOSE TO THE COLTS IN GERMANY
PATRIOTS 6 COLTS 10
The New England Patriots are now 2-8. They are in LAST PLACE in the entire NFL. LAST PLACE. And unlike last week this loss was all on Mac Jones. He threw an interception at the worse possible time. The team, the coaches, and the owners are doomed. This loss was ALL on Mac Jones. In fact, with under two minutes left in the game they benched him and brought in Zappe. Unfortunately, Zappe threw and interception. Game over. SEASON OVER. There's no getting out of this mess.
Hell, I even felt bad for Jones. I mean, I really did. He looked so distraught out there. The poor kid is LOST. And today he was LOST IN GERMANY.
This week's loss had us all thinking of this guy. Actually both guys. Brady and Manning. How bad do we all wish that these two QB's were still playing? Hell, we all do. Brady and Manning.
I miss these days. The DAYS OF GLORY.

HE LOVES YOU YEAH YEAH YEAH! 11-11-23
My friend Chachi Loprette invited me and my wife Cory along with Tony and Shelly Berardini to his latest Beatles show at the CITY WINERY in Boston.
Chachi and the amazing magician John Logan put on one hell of an entertaining show that encompasses everything to do with the Beatles. And I am telling you as sure as the day is long, they both do a great job. Chachi is a walking talking encyclopedia on the BEATLES. I mean nobody that I know , knows more about the Beatles. Nobody.
Chachi invited me to come to the show to show my short Super 8mm film that I shot of Paul McCartney on May 20th, 1976 . It was only 3 minutes long and it was kind of grainy and it looked old. But I have the only footage of Paul McCartney singing YESTERDAY 10 years after The BEATLES played in Boston. That in of itself is pretty dam significant.
And this? This is a Polaroid photo of Chachi the day after that show. Chachi was at the same show. He's wearing a WINGS Tee shirt. Pretty damn classic .
This band THE MUTUAL ADMIRATION Society is from ROCK GARDEN Records and they did a killer version of HELTER SKELTER. I have to say, I had one one hell of a Veterans Day Week.

With this last GOP debate being without the Orange Man, they somehow allowed Ole Khaliddy to get on the panel of commentators. And The Sheik asked the one question that only Khaliddy could ask. "If you get elected, will you commute the sentence of KSM?" They all said no. Sorry Sheiky.
And so my friends, please take advantage of this weekly photo shop of the mastermind who planned 9-11 and resulted in the deaths of 3,000 innocent civilians by KSM (Khalid Sheik Mohammed). *Note to self -must pick up a case of Prison shower soap at the Home Depot this week.
LOCAL SURFER/COMIC/ACTOR LANDS NEW ROLE ON THE BRAND NEW FRASIER SITCOM. CONGRATS JIMMY!
Jimmy Dunn as Moose - Stand-up comedian and actor Jimmy Dunn plays firefighter Moose, a colleague of Freddy who appears to be slow-witted. Dunn is best known for playing Sean McCarthy on the CBS sitcom, The McCarthys.
I have to say I was a big fan of the original FRASIER and I've always been a fan of Jimmy Dunn. And I'm not the least bit surprised that Jimmy is back on TV. The man works his ass off and is constantly making connections in the entertainment world. So yeah, it was just a matter of time before he was working in front of the cameras again. We surfers on the seacoast wish him the absolute best. I'd say "break a leg" Jimmy but the wacky surf lifestyle he lives? He just might end up with a broken leg.

STAN CHEW SURFING IN NEW HAMPSHIRE IN 1982.
I love this old pic of Stan Chew. He's riding a BLUE HAWAII and he's surfing one of the premier breaks here in NH. He told me that Kevin Grondin got him into the BLUE HAWAII boards (we all had them back in the day).

that happened during that year. Some of which are to this day, unexplainable. Some are just mind blowing. But all true.
I started on July 26th, 2010 and ended on July 26th, 2011.
