WATCH THE FULL "DELTA" MOVIE HERE

October 14th, 2020 TS DELTA hit the NH seacoast with a clean head high swell
and relatively warm water. The crew was out in full force. Still reeling from
Hurricane Teddy the boys and girls wanted more.
And DELTA provided them with another jolt of saltwater energy.
So while 2020 may have been a terrible year for some people,
the surfers of New England will tell you otherwise.
What's my old mantra? Oh yeah...SURFING HEALS ALL WOUNDS.
Music is by The AB Band. The song is called "Autumn Breeze."
I thought it was appropriate enough.

November 1st, 2020 The RUN is 13 out of 13 Weeks.
Waist high or better at least once a week.

There were chest to head high waves on October 25th and
overhead surf on the 30th and 31st, 2020.

Hurricanes EPSILON AND ZETA GALLERIES. October Snow. The New England Patriots Have Left The Building. Finally, GET OUT AND VOTE!

I think this season is unprecedented when it comes to the naming of storms. I mean, here we are at the end of the Greek Alphabet. Hurricane ZETA? So, what happens next? If there's more storms? Where do we go from here? I shot this pic yesterday morning. Clearly it was overhead again and pretty damn clean. There were waves leftover last Sunday from EPSILON. Wait, did we miss something here? How did we go from Epsilon to Zeta? Seems like they missed a few names along the way.

I guess we will never see a Hurricane Ralph in our lifetime.

Too bad. If we ever got one, you'd never hear the end of it from me. Hell, I've waited over 56 years for one. I suppose I can wait another 10 or 20 years. Though, the way they keep repeating names, I'll never see one. Just as well, I'd be intolerable if there ever was one.

So it snowed on Halloween Eve. Snow, and it got cold. Too cold.

I am not ready for this. Not even close. Snow on my corn stalks.

Snow on the ground and on the Blue Spruce. Doesn't this look cold?

Snow on the pumpkins. This ain't right people.

Some of our leaves are still green. Nothing about this pic makes sense.

Now this makes sense. Goblins and witches came to visit us on Halloween.

Witches in the snow. My oldest grandchild Avery making a snowball.

Cory's pumpkin. We hardly got any trick or treaters again this year. Sniff.

She also made a sign saying to take whatever you want out of the candy bowl. Due to the Covid restrictions. There was no personal interaction. I wanted to make two signs. One that said COVID KIDS CANDY Here. And the other that simply said, KIDS WITHOUT COVID CANDY Here. (FYI that's a joke.)

And speaking of COVID. Can someone please tell me the science behind those who drive around in their motor vehicles, with all the windows rolled up while wearing masks? Anyone? I'm serious. I get social distancing. I get certain businesses that require you to wear a mask.

And if wearing a mask is to protect others from you, who the hell are you protecting? You're driving in your car all by yourself, while wearing a mask, with all the damn windows rolled up? What the ever loving hell is that about?

If you are one of those people, you need to look at yourself in the mirror, and ask yourself this very serious question.

What the hell is wrong with me?

I see those individuals driving by themselves with all the windows rolled up and they are wearing a mask. You know what that is? Adult pacifiers. The mask has become your "Binky." And if you're wearing a mask by yourself, in your vehicle, with all the windows rolled up, you may as well throw on the adult diapers too. Because you are one paranoid individual.

Mask up. Diaper on. Or should it be Diaper Down? Whatever.

One of my oldest living friends showed up last week without notice.
Robin Rowell has been one of my longest running surfing brothers since the early 70's. Yes he was wearing a mask. But mask or no mask, I gave him a quick hug. (Yes I washed after the hug). The horror...the horror....the horror. I love Robin, and honestly it was worth the risk.

Look I know that COVID is real. Yes I know how many Americans have died from it. But I also know that of the 200,000 plus thousand who have died, 80 to 90% of them were elderly with pre-existing conditions. If you are in a nursing home, it's basically the last stop on planet earth before your final destination. We do need to protect them. I also know that there have been millions of Americans who got Covid, and got over it. That's true. Google it. Fact check it.

MILLIONS of Americans have gotten over it. That's real 100% science.

I wear a mask ONLY where it is required. But I'm not wearing one by myself while driving in my vehicle. If that becomes a law? I'm not going anywhere. I keep hearing that creepy old man Biden keeps saying he would order a national Mask Mandate and that he will cure Covid when he becomes president? Now that's a true politician. Telling you what you want to hear and believe.

Except most of us don't want to wear masks Joe. Nor do we want you touching women and young girls inappropriately.

All kidding aside, (though there's nothing funny about Groping Joe Biden).
I hope they come up with a Covid vaccine soon. And I hope they come up with a pill to help those who are driving around in their vehicles, by themselves, with all the windows rolled up, while wearing a mask. But I'm afraid that any kind of pill to help those people, will require that they not operate a motor vehicle period. Cause you'll be perpendicular in your bed.

Just as well. They sound like they could use the rest. Come on man!

"SNOW ON HALLOWEEN AND SURFING HEALS ALL WOUNDS!"

This week's Ed's corner is a classic if there ever was one. me and Brian Nevins standing on the Wall in October of 2008. I remember this day like it was yesterday. There were a couple of pros up from Jersey and they were out there mixing it up with the local rippers. Ed took this candid pic of Brian and I as we were undoubtedly yukking it up. Now for Some Local and National News

The new BORAT movie is out and worth watching. Unless you're a Trump fan, then it might not seem that funny. And if you're any kind of Rudy fan, you really don't want to watch it. But aside from that it's really pretty funny. We loved the first Borat movie.

I like the mask humor. It's pretty contemporary. Watch it. It's funny.

What's not funny is TUESDAY NOVEMBER 3rd, 2020 is Election Day. A Day of Reckoning. We are either going to have this guy for another 4 years, or the other guy. Both of them are aging politicians, who will look you in the eye, and tell you what you want to hear. It's unfair to say that all politicians lie. But these guys? They've both been caught in telling lies. Over and over again. But these are your choices. I don't buy into the lesser of two evils crap. That's a cop-out. The whole pick your poison bullshit? Nope. Personally, I don't like either one of them. I really don't. I don't like them, or their VP's. I have a problem with all four of them. But I'm gonna vote. And I'm not telling you who I'm voting for. That's none of your business. You just go out and Vote.

Re-elect Donald J. Trump for another 4 years. Ugh.

Or Elect Joe Biden who spent 8 years with Obama. Ugh.

But whatever you do, don't sit on your ass on Tuesday. Get out and VOTE. And I don't care who you vote for. I won't think any differently of you no matter who you vote for. I am amazed at the hate there is out there. I have friends who HATE other friends because of their political views. That's pretty sad. Just Vote. And please, come Wednesday, let's start the healing process. Stop hating one another. Hate is unhealthy.

Now this was a man I liked. Sean Connery passed away yesterday at age 90. The original James Bond. Thanks for all the wonderful memories sir. "Bond, James Bond."

The "NEW" New England Patriots are 2-5. That needs repeating. The 6 time Super Bowl Champions are 2-5. The season is lost.
They almost won another game. But almost doesn't count in Football. Cam Newton is not Tom Brady. Sigh. And 2020 is sucking the wind out of the NFL this season.

The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS are 2-5. The haters are doing their hateful dances tonight. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Cam Newton might be number 1, but his team is far from it. .

Stephon Gilmore was MIA from today's game, Though I'm sure he wouldn't have made a difference. Defensive player of the year last year has been targeted repeatedly over the last few weeks. And getting torched in the process. Our New England Patriots are 2-5.

KSM Photoshop of the Week
So once again, we are at the crossroads in our country. With two aging men fighting over the oval office. Both of them candidates for a heart attack and or a major stroke. And yet, I must
do my weekly nonsense using KSM. This just struck me as being funny. The two old codgers bickering like a couple of old men with KSM in the middle. Seems appropriate enough.

And so my friends, please take advantage of this weekly photo shop of the mastermind who planned 9-11 and resulted in the deaths of 3,000 innocent civilians by KSM (Khalid Sheik Mohammed).

*Note to self -must pick up a case of MAIL IN VOTER SLIPS at Home Depot this week.

It never made a difference to what time it was when i stopped by, my mother would always make me something to eat. She was the best. And my dad took this photo. He was also the best when it came to documenting everything in our lives. I guess it's true, the apple dosen't fall too far from the tree. Trust me, it happens to all of us. Photo by Gus Fatello

This is the trailer to TEDDY. Or rather Hurricane TEDDY. We had four days of waves with two of them being significant. September 22nd and 23rd, 2020. Teddy was one of those Hurricanes that lived cup to the hype. It got big. It got hollow. And...it got crowded. Believe it or not, some surfers flew out from California to surf TEDDY. The Full feature Premiere showing will be shown on October 1st, 2020 at 7:00 PM. I'll be showing it on the Blog, the Vimeo page, and Facebook. That's 10-1-20 at 7:00PM EST. Music will be by NERVOUS EATERS, REDDY TEDDY, and The VINNY BAND. The song in the trailer is HOT STEEL and ACID by Nervous Eaters and can be purchased at aceofheartsrecords.com

Three Tropical Storms that gave New England some fun waves. September 6th, 14th, and 15th, 2020. It never got really big, but anytime the waves are head high and the water temps are in the 60's it's worth it. My son Max was celebrating his birthday on the 14th, so it's a little Max heavy. But seeing Kainalu Nichols surf at home again is worth the price of admission alone. Wait, what am I talking about it's free. The music is by Jack Shea check him out of Instagram @iamjackshea and QWILL at qwillmusic.com

TROPICAL STORM KYLE 5 Days Of Waves from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

From August 15th to August 19th, 2020 TS KYLE lit up the New Hampshire seacoast. The Boys and The Girls were there to meet Kyle every hour of every day. Suffice it to say, by Day 5 they were all gassed. But not before I shot the best of the best. It didn't really clean up until Day 4, but not having any real waves for so long, nobody was complaining. I managed to get in the water with my trusty HERO 5 GoPro and shoot for a couple of hours in just my trunks and rash guard. Yes it was that warm. I tried to shoot everyone who was out there. But try as I might, I always end up missing a few. I'm sorry if I missed you. The music is provided by my super talented nephew QWILL. You need to check his site out qwillmusic.com

Little Soft Top Or Christmas In July from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

July 1st and 2nd, 2020. The 157th anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg. The actual battle lasted 3 days. July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. But here in Hampton, NH? It was all about surfing at the Wall. Dougie "Fresh" Wright was in town and as always, he times his visits with a fun summer swell. The surfing is all by the local crew. The music is three songs from The VINNY Band LP "OLAS DE SEXO" recorded in 1983 and produced by our dear friend David Robinson. The music isn't exactly contemporary but it works well enough for Surfing. Look for the near decapitation of Cam MacLeod. Crazy. I shot this in 4K so adjust your machines accordingly. Watch at a minimum of 1080

The BOYS & GIRLS Of Summer 6-5-20
from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

OK so I shot this all on June 5th, 2020. I started shooting at 8:00AM. There was only ONE person out at this secret spot called The WALL. Think about that. We all just spent two months in a Lockdown when the Governor opened the Beaches on June 1st, 2020. You would think that the first sign of a freaking ripple that people would be all over a waist to chest high glassy morning. But only a handful got it in the morning. People did finally wake up and by midday it was back to the normal crowd scene. It was just the best was from 7-9AM. Look, I'm not telling you this to make you feel bad (okay maybe a little) but you gotta wake up and check the cams people. It's summer! The flat spells are upon us. Anyway, I used The Ataris playing one of my favorite songs ever. Check it out. Live and learn. SURF FREE OR DIE!

OPENING DAY June 1st, 2020 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

Finally, the Governor of New Hampshire opened our Beaches and allowed our people the FREEDOM to Surf. Albeit, there wasn't much in the way of Surf, but that didn't stop the Boys and Girls from paddling out at the Wall on North Beach in Hampton, NH. Nobody spread the COVID-19 Virus around, that I could see. It's funny because while we (surfers) were all practicing Social Distancing the Protesters and Rioters were NOT. It's almost as if The Coronavirus disappeared overnight. My friends we are living in strange times. As in very strange times. The music by TL fits perfectly. The BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN!

COVERT-19 TS ARTHUR from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo. Another from the COVERT-19 series. This might end up being the last of its kind because on June 1st, 2020 the beaches of New Hampshire will finally be open. The last in the nation to open the beaches. Thank God. This edit is all from Tropical Storm Arthur. This was shot in 4 K so adjust your device accordingly. The music is by the super talented Ty Tabor. Buy his music at amazon.com

MAY DAY from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

The 7th video in the COVERT-19 Series. This one's called May Day. Just three surfers Kody Grondin, Max Fatello, and Kenny Linseman all practicing "Social Distancing" while hordes of people crowd the local beach Restaurants and nobody says anything. I don't get it. That's BS in my eyes. Practice Common Sense Not Nonsense. As long as there's surf, I'm going to document it. Music is by The Jelly Jam you can buy their music at amazon.com. Watch in 4K if you have it, otherwise watch in 1080.

MR MAN from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

Another from the COVERT-19 series. This one's called MR MAN. It's all from the 27th and 28th of April 2020. It's all in black and white. The featured surfers are: Jesse Gould, Kody Grondin, Max Fatello, Matt Colby, Ryan Jackson, and Brett and Kai Zola. Music is by The Jelly Jam by their music at Amazon.com

NOBODY'S BUSINESS from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

From the COVERT-19 series. This one's called NOBODY'S BUSINESS. Shot in New England on Sunday April 19th, 2020. Surfers: Kody Grondin, Max Fatello, Nick "Pev" Peverada, Lars Hamilton, Brian Taber, and Nate Gillman. ralphspic.com Music by Ty Tabor

COVERT -19 Series GHOST TOWN from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

With the LOCKDOWN in full affect the local surfers have to get creative to find waves. No PARKING means just that. There's NO PARKING at any of the NH beaches. So what does that mean? Well, you can walk, ride a bike, or skateboard to the ocean. The Atlantic Ocean is a big body of water. As long as you avoid the beaches and leave your vehicle at home, the will to survive and surf is strong in New England. The Surfers who appear in the video broke no laws. They just went surfing and practiced Social Distancing. The music is by Jelly Jam. Amazingly talented musicians. Praying for those who are sick, and praying for all the businesses to hang in there. Things will get better. I hope they Kill The Virus soon. Meanwhile, "Surfing Heals All Wounds."

Will this be the last surf Video I make in the next couple of months? March 27th, 2020. Was the Last Day before the LOCKDOWN. The COVID-19 Plague has taken the country by storm. Thank God we had this last ocean storm before the Beaches and parking lots were shut down. I should have called this edit The Day The Earth stood Still.

Couple of points of interest for you all. For starters, March 27th was my late father's birthday, as well as my late uncle's birthday, and it's also my youngest daughter's birthday. Today is April 2nd. It's also the Birthday of my two dear friends. David Robinson (The CARS) and Don Rose (Eat records). Why mention them? Well I used four songs off the LP OLAS DESEXO by the VINNY BAND. I wrote all of the songs on the LP. And David produced the record, and Don was record company president who signed our band back in 1979.

One of the songs you'll hear, "I NEVER SAW YOU" was number one on WBCN in Boston for four consecutive weeks. It featured Elliot Easton (The CARS) on lead guitar. And my good friend and fellow photographer Tony Berardini was the GM of WBCN at that time. The last song is called "HERE'S WHERE I GET OFF" and it is my personal favorite song I've ever written. And I've written hundreds of songs. Anyway, you got nothing to do these days except watch TV and fool around on Social Media. So watch and listen my friends. Watch and listen.
Happy Birthday David and Don!

I filmed this in 4K so adjust your machines accordingly.

My call for this week is going to be... Saturday again.

Because the newer version of DREAMWEAVER no longer has a Rollover feature I will simply place both BEFORE and AFTER images side by side. This is what happens when you get caught doing something stupid. Photo by RALPH Photoshop by RALPH

"Doris don't look now, but I think that surfer up ahead in the sand, is dead. See if Scooter will go up to him and smell him. Dogs have a way of rolling in dead things on the beach."

(Above) Did I go too far with this one? Nah.
