HATERS HATERS HATERS. Patriots WIN Super Bowl LIII.
First February Swell. Beatles play on Ed Sullivan 55 years ago.
And a Sad Week of Passings. |
|
Do you know what this is? Take a look. Take a good long look. Give up? It's the confetti from last Sunday's Super Bowl. Red, White, and Blue confetti filling the entire stadium up. The colors of the Patriots uniforms. Now I'm not sure if they had "Yellow and Blue" confetti ready to rain down on the stadium if the RAMS had won. And I suppose we will never know the answer to that. At least not this year. Because this year belongs to the New England Patriots again. AGAIN. For the SIXTH time. And thus, the hating goes into overdrive.
The HATERS are on the War Path (again). Two years ago when we beat the FALCONS in what was to be the GREATEST comeback in the history of the NFL, I jokingly
made a Meme in the likes of a GO FUND ME page asking for money to build a Wall around New England to keep the Haters at Bay. I was joking of course. But I know they are out there. The HATERS. Oh yeah.
Now, I'm not naive when it comes to writing this Blog. I know damn well that a small percentage of you live outside of the New England Kingdom. I know for a fact that you are sprinkled all over the Globe. I hear from you from time to time via email and social media. I know you exist.
But most of you are New England transplants who keep in touch via the Blog.
So I'm going to guess that most of you are fans of the 6 Time World Champions New England Patriots. But for those of you who are not? You need a quick little history lesson here. For you see my hater friends, things were not always like this. You older fans of the NFL know exactly what I'm talking about. As hard as it is to believe, the Patriots were once the LAUGHING STOCK of The NFL. It's true. Nobody gave us any kind of respect.
We were the Rodney Dangerfield's of the NFL.
We had our games BLACKED out because they couldn't sell enough tickets. If you wanted to watch your New England Patriots play on Sundays you had to practically drive to Canada to see them. We were NEVER invited to play on Monday Night Football. I'm not kidding. We were that bad. Back in the Sullivan Stadium days sitting on those ice cold aluminum seats. It was terrible. Yeah we had our moments. But they were few and far between. In 1976 after 8 years of losing seasons they finally had a winning season. They were 11-3 that year under Chuck Fairbanks. But in their very first first Play Off game against the RAIDERS they were flagged for a controversial call of roughing the passer. Ken "The Snake" Stabler was their QB. He was quite the actor that afternoon. That cost them the game. You can Google all of this to check up on my facts here.
I remember that day quite clearly. Our time had come and gone in one game.
Just two years after
that debacle, our star receiver Daryl Stingley was paralyzed after a vicious hit by Jack Tatum of the RAIDERS! But wait a minute, this was a PRESEASON game. Again, Google it.
In 1986 they somehow found their way into their very first Super Bowl.
It was another disaster. Playing the UNSTOPPABLE Chicago Bears, we lost 46-10. And that score does not tell the whole story. We were demolished and humiliated and sent back to New England with our tails between our legs. That was a tough one to overcome. Most of us just threw up our arms and accepted our fate. In 1992 there were serious threats of the Patriots moving to St Louis. Can you imagine? Not only is your team a joke, but they are going to leave you with NO team. It was awful. You Haters have no idea.
But in 1993 they hired Bill Parcells as the head coach.
Parcells had two Super Bowl Rings with the Giants. Things were looking good. It was almost too good to be true. But the threats of leaving and going to St Louis were still too real.
And then...
another miracle, Bob Kraft bought the team in 1994.
With Parcells as head coach and Drew Bledsoe at QB things were looking good. Hell we even made our way back to the Super Bowl in 1996 season. Playing the Green Bay Packers. But the curse was still with us. Rumors of Parcells leaving the team on the flight down to the Super Bowl turned out to be true. We lost to the Packers and Parcells didn't return with the team. Are you Haters getting this? 1997 was a year of insanity.
Enter Pete
Carroll. From 1997-2000 Pete "Freaking" Carroll was our coach.
Once again we were struggling, and things looked terrible. But like all miracles, they come when you least expect it. In 2000 Bill Belichick was named Head Coach of the NY JETS! But before the ink was dry on his contract, in a stunning press conference, Belichick announces he's leaving
the JETS to come to New England? Yup...it's all true.
You all know the rest of this story. But if you don't Google it. The Patriots win their first Super Bowl during the 2001 season playing the St Louis RAMS on February 3rd, 2002. The year we were attacked on 9-11-01. On February 3rd 2002 Bob Kraft said these famous words. "We Are ALL Patriots!"
He has repeated that statement six times now.
So it was just one week ago tonight, the Patriots win their SIXTH Title against the Rams on the same day they won their first title against the Rams.
Are you HATERS still with me?
So we don't care what you think. We don't care about your hate. We feed off that hate. You can cry all day long. We don't care. Call us cheaters. We will just laugh in your pathetic faces. It's all BS. Because we have earned each and every title. And before you start thinking about this next season. Remember this. Brady, Belichick, Edleman, and MOST of the current team are all coming back. So I made this special meme just for you Haters.
Like it?
I know, I know, I know. Why do I have to be so HURTFUL?
Ha ha. It's easy, if you want to sing the Blues, you have got to pay your dues. I'd say we have paid more than our share. Suck it up Creme Puffs! We ain't going anywhere!
Not for at least another 2-3 years.
Look at Roger Goodell having to be nice ONCE again to Bob Kraft. Ha ha.
These two really love and respect each other. Julien Edleman and Tom Brady two grown men crying tears of joy as they embrace in front of millions of viewers. That's true love.
The HATERS are crying in their Hate soup today.
But the Lovers are having their day in the sun. Poor Pat Patriot who was knocked down by a hater two weeks ago at the Pro Bowl is getting the last laugh. Hanging out with these Cheerleaders. He's no fool.

Now for Some Local, National and International News
The day was Sunday February 8th 1964. When four lads from Liverpool England played for the very first time on the Ed Sullivan Show. All across America young teens and their reluctant parents watched this famous night in Rock and Roll history go down. I can remember this night like it was yesterday. All of us were crowded into the "den" where we watched on a small Black and White TV The BEATLES as they played to an audience of screaming
teenage girls. I was literally transformed that night. Nothing would ever be the same for me. I know I'm not alone.
Hundreds of thousands of teenagers around the Globe were feeling the same thing. I had been playing guitar since 1963 with my neighbor and childhood friend. We were into the Ventures. Playing surf music. But after seeing the Beatles we had a whole new outlook on playing our guitars. I can remember saying to my brother Johnny "This is what we are going to do someday."
That someday would come in the early 70's for Johnny and I. But I was already into playing with other teens the very next day.
The BEATLES changed our lives. I mean all of our lives. Their music was in the early stages of evolving into something that none of us saw coming. This was not some one night fluke. This was the beginning of something greater than any of us have ever imagined. They played two more times on the Sullivan show.
We bought their first LP MEET THE BEATLES.
And we bought every single LP and single from that day forward. It's hard to deny what they did, and honestly what they still do today. I mean, I listen to the BEATLES station on SIRIUS channel 18 every single day. Their songs still sound amazing. After 55 years they still move me. And I know I am not alone.
Sunday February 8th, 1964. The night my life changed forever.
OK if you've been following the news as of late this story has gotten some legs to it. I have to admit these tabloid papers crack me up. You need to Google this story. Trust me it's worth the few seconds out of your life.

I kept a daily BLOG when I surfed everyday during my
CATCH A WAVE FOR MOLLY. (Click On the Banner below)
Started on July 26, 2010 ENDED July 26, 2011.
A Wave a day for 365 consecutive days. |
Yesterday- Phil Carey Ollie's Point 2003.
(Below) This is blowing my mind. The fact that I am using an image from 2003 as an old Yesterday pic. But my criteria for yesterday is 10 years and older. This fits that criteria. This was a great session. We were one of three boats sitting in the channel when the wind came onshore. Two of the boats packed up and left and we hung around. Funny how things work out. The wind went off shore and we scored some insane waves. This was 16 years ago.
