This is clearly a sign of the times we live in. I shot this footage the morning of 12-9-21, and did the edit
the same afternoon. And less than 9 hours later, I finished the edit and posted it on social media.
This would have taken me weeks to finish back in the day when I was shooting in Super 8mm.

THE RECORD FOR THE MOST CONSECUTIVE WEEKS IN A ROW FOR WAIST HIGH OR BETTER. August 8th, 2021 was 53 WEEKS! TOPPING THE 43 CONSECUTIVE WEEKS SET IN 2009!

As I mentioned last week the Annual RPOTW Calendars Are Out. Featuring photos from each month of 2021. This last week had some pretty as it gets December waves and sea smoke. There are those who surf and walk among us who are jaded and bored with pics of sea smoke. Not me. I welcome this natural phenomena and can't wait to shoot it when it happens. But to actually have a decent swell when it's happening? That's double your viewing pleasure.
There's a whole gallery down in the gallery section that I shot this morning.
Not to mention the video at the top of the page. I got some pretty decent footage of the sea smoke. That pretty much covers it all.
We had quite a few notable historical events that happened this past week.
The anniversaries of Pearl Harbor and John Lennon’s passing for starters.
Pearl Harbor was 80 years ago. It’s hard to believe that there are men and women who served our country in WWII who still remember that day. Sadly, most of them are gone. But there are still WWII vets who walk among us. They deserve our utmost respect. If you see a WWII vet say hello and give them a BIG Thank You.
The late Frank Grondin was born on December 7th. He passed away last December at the age of 98. He served in WWII and was awarded the purple heart for wounds he received in Europe fighting the Nazis.
My father and every single uncle served in WWII. There was not a single male in our family that did not serve during WWII. They literally stopped what they were doing and signed up. The same thing happened after 9-11.
All the GWOT vets should be given the same respect. They too stopped what they were doing and volunteered to go fight our nation’s enemies. And they did for twenty years.
But after what happened last summer with Biden’s disastrous pullout in Afghanistan, I’m not sure how many Americans would be willing to stop what they were doing to go and fight for this country should we be faced with something as significant as Pearl Harbor and 9-11. On second thought, volunteers would still step up and raise their hands to take an oath. Why?
Because that’s what volunteers do.
John Lennon has been dead longer that he was alive. That’s tragic. He was only 40 yrs old when he was killed. He’s been dead 41 years. I hope the evil coward who shot him on December 8th, 1980 never lives to see the light of day again. He should spend the rest of his days in a cold, cement, cell-block. It’s one of those days that roll up on you and it just brings you back every time. I wrote about it last year. Here’s what I wrote. Click on the image below.
The current news is horrific. Click on the image below to watch this terrifying actual video of the Tornado that killed all those poor people.
The deadly tornadoes in Kentucky and other states is incredible sad and horrific. And so close to the Holidays. Tornadoes are the most frightening of all the dangerous weather patterns we have in this country. Yes we have deadly hurricanes and floods. And yes we have those insane wildfires. But those Tornadoes that come in the middle of the night? They have to be the most frightening of all. I thank the Lord that my family and friends don't live in a tornado zone. Otherwise, we’d move the hell out if we were in one of those tornado magnet communities. Just absolutely terrifying weather.
Finally there's justice in the Jussie Smollett case. I hope he never gets to do another paying acting job in his life ever again. This came out in 2019 and I think it says it all that only Dave Chappelle can do. Click on this image below and sit back and have yourselves a good laugh.
I thought this was brilliant back then, and I think it’s brilliant today especially in light of the jury in Chicago finding him GUILTY last week. Juicy? That’s funny.
Michael Nesmith of The MONKEES passed away. He was 78 years old.
Most of you know that I was/am a HUGE Beatles fan. But like most other Beatles fans back in the 60’s, I was also a fan of the MONKEES. In other words, I watched the shows. It was entertaining. And look The MONKEES were nowhere near what the Beatles were. The MONKEES were a made for TV band. The BEATLES were the real deal. But of all the MONKEES Nesmith was actually a player/writer/producer. So he had some legit talent.
The MONKEES show was fun. But they were not to be taken seriously. However, I can remember like it was yesterday learning how to play LAST TRAIN TO CLARKSVILLE and I’M A BELIEVER on my Black Silvertone electric guitar. And I’M NOT YOUR STEPPING STONE. Those three songs were written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart. * Neil Diamond wrote I’M A BELIEVER.
So I was a fan. And I have to give credit where credit is due.
The MONKEES had Jimi Hendrix as an opening Act in 1967. Hendrix only played 7 shows before he quit the tour. The MONKEES Mickey Dolenz and Mike Nesmith loved Hendrix and wanted him on the tour. But the kids who came to see Davey Jones and the MONKEES hated Hendrix. Just as well. But that was clearly the oddest pairing in R&R history.

NOW FOR SOME LOCAL AND NATIONAL NEWS
The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS beat the BUFFALO BILLS last Monday Night in a crazy weather related game. Mac Jones only threw the ball 3 times. THREE TIMES! The rest of the game was played on the ground and a few key Field Goals by Mr Reliable Nick Folk. By the way, how good is Nick Folk? Oh my God. We have been blessed with three of the BEST FG kickers in the history of the NFL. From Vinateri to Gostkowski to Folk!
We sure know how to pick them.
But man, what a game. And as a result, the Patriots as of today December 12th, 2021 are STILL the NUMBER ONE Team and the entire AFC. Oh what joyous times we live in.
These memes are funny to us but a thorn in the sides of everyone else who are not patriots fans. But the bottom line remains, The PATRIOTS are the NUMBER ONE TEAM IN THE AFC!
And if that wasn't bad enough for the BILLS they have to face TB12 today at 4:00PM as they play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Man when it rains it pours. And speaking of Tommy Brady.
Here's some interesting stats.
How the hell did we end up with a QB who just might end up being as good as TB12 or better? Shit luck? Or is there some truth to the team and management knowing who to draft and who to grab? That's more the likely of scenarios. As fans, all we have to do is sit back and watch the team play every week. Leave the more important stuff to those who know better than we do.
Congrats to NAVY/MARINES for beating ARMY yesterday.

Yesterday- 15 YEARS AGO I WAS THE GRAND MARSHALL IN THE HAMPTON CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY PARADE! 12-2-06
(Below) This was one of the highlights of my life. I was Commander from
2001 to 2014 and was honored to be asked to be the GRAND MARSHALL
in the local Christmas/Holiday Parade in Hampton, NH. This parade is the biggest parade in all of New Hampshire. *My driver is my late dear friend, SSGT George Masten USMC. God I miss that Salty Old Marine. Semper Fi George. *Note the insert photo. I am actually talking with my late mother Eva. She was in a Nursing Home at the time in Beverly, MA and could not attend the parade. I don't think she fully understood what I was saying to her, when I kept trying to yell over the sounds of the sirens. "Ma I'm in the parade! I'm the Grand Marshall!" I gave up after awhile, and ended up telling her later what I was trying to say to her. We all had a good laugh about it. She passed away the next October in 2007. Photo by John Carden
