January 25th, 2015 The RUN is 3 out of 3 Weeks

Waist high or better, at least once a week. There was
chest to head high surf on Monday MLK day, and the
20th and 23rd as well...

The Absurd DEFLATE GATE, American Sniper, the Storm
of the Century heading our way, and the Super Bowl.

OK all you New England surfers, and beach goers pay attention here. From this day forward, there will be no more High Tide and Low Tide. There will only be "Inflated Tide" and "Deflated Tide."

Have you ever heard of anything so ridiculous as this deflated ball
story? I mean good Lord, what the...we didn't even have 24 hours to celebrate the AFC Championship when this BS hit the fan. We got robbed of feeling good for less than 24 hours. Come on. Really?

The NFL has some serious problems for sure. But this? This is the biggest waste of time. Not to mention that poor players on both teams are being denied their moments in the sun, as they can't even be acknowledged for their achievements. Rather they are being pushed aside and discarded as a side story, as the nation is consumed by this media frenzy/witch hunt that really has no bearing on the AFC Championships or the upcoming Superbowl.

It is in my honest opinion, a colossal waste of time.

If there's one thing we have learned in the past, it is when the New England Patriots get put into this dark corner they always come out swinging. Think about Spy Gate. We came out of that week and won 16 straight games. I was so pissed that I went and made this poster.

I know you Pats fans are all shaking your heads with approval
.

You all just know that the Patriots will come out flying on Sunday and it just might be a bigger blow-out than the AFC Championship game. Because let's face it, if you saw that game you know, the Patriots could of used cement blocks and still killed the Colts. We dominated that game on all three aspects on the field. Offense. Defense. And Special teams. We beat them fair and square.

If I were Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seagulls I'd be afraid. Very afraid. There is no more a dangerous team than the New England Patriots when their backs are against the wall.

The movie AMERICAN SNIPER opened last weekend and it was a huge hit across the country. We saw it and it was really well done. A great job directing by Clint Eastwood and Bradley Cooper was so good as Chris Kyle.

Of course the subject matter of this film, could not control the buffoons who walk among us. The mouth that roared and eats everything in his path, Michael Moore spouted some of his idiotic rhetoric about "all snipers are cowards." I swear, you almost have to stop and wonder, just what the hell is going through his giant head.

Really Mikey? All snipers are cowards? Chris Kyle saved the lives of hundreds of Marines in IRAQ. Ask them how much of a coward Chris Kyle was. Someone hand this guy a trash bag full of chips, a couple dozen donuts, a case of milky ways, a gallon of coca cola, and then tell him to shut up. SHUT UP THE F*** UP. You moronic gas bag.

"I saw the news today oh boy..."

There's a storm heading this way and it is going to be one for the record books. Ugh. I don't mind snow for those who love it. But this? I don't know. This could be bad. As in real bad. Like power outages, flooding, traffic accidents, all kinds of terrible things. Time to stock up. Get your batteries, food, water, candles, flashlights, firewood...etc etc. This thing is coming. It's for real.

Forget the Blizzard of 78...this thing might rival it. So what are they calling it? It must have a name. I haven't bothered to find out yet. Though you would think I would be on it seeing how my last movie
was all about the winter storms of last year. THE COLD COAST.
I'll be out shooting. I just wonder if anyone will be surfing on Tuesday. That's the big day. How big? Well they are calling for 20'...yep. That's not a typo. They are calling for 18-20' surf. Any takers? I'll be out there with my cameras. Both video and stills. If someone paddles out, I'll be there to document it.

Meanwhile there was good clean surf today.

For a size ratio check out the woman walking in the orange coat in the lower right. It was at least chest high all day.

Speaking of women. Anyone wanting to make a donation to the Meghan Evans fund can do so at any TD Bank.
Just walk into any TD Bank and ask for the Karen Evans
(Meghan's mom) Fundraiser.

Thanks again to all who came and donated last Wednesday January 14th, 2015 at FLATBREAD in Hampton. Again, any TD Bank will take a donation in care of Karen Evans.

This is a battle that we can win together.

"Ed's Corner" pic this week is from the winter of 2011. The surfer
is Kody Grondin and it was taken on May 16th, 2013 at the Wall. Today is Kody's birthday. He turns 23. This photo is another case of how many of us have had our photos taken by Ed. To see more of Ed's pics just hit the archives tab and scroll through the years and see some Ed's work. Be sure to pick up the new SFOD movie The COLD COAST and check out the extra feature of Ed O'Connell's gallery set to music.

Each week I will feature one of Ed's great pics from this blog.

The COLD COAST is available at CINNAMON RAINBOWS, PIONEERS BOARD SHOP, ZAPSTIX, and SUMMER SESSIONS. You can also buy one from SURF FREE OR DIE by sending a money order or check for $20. Go to surffreeordie.com for ordering details.

Portions of the eventual DVD proceeds will go to the
WOUNDED WARRIORS PROJECT.

This is going to be a GREAT SUPERBOWL. In spite of the garbage that has been on the airwaves and TV. This is going to be a good football game. I see the Patriots winning ring number 4.
Tom Brady and Bill Belichik's 6th appearance at the Superbowl.
How amazing is that? Here let me tell you. Pretty freaking amazing. Talk about a dynasty. Bob Kraft and his team are one hell of a football team. And the world will know that on Sunday.

Now for Some Of My Weekly Global Observances

Wouldn't you like to see the asshole Brit who is the ISIS spokesperson and behind all the beheadings on the ISIS videos get apprehended. This evil SOB latest work involves these two Japanese captives. He beheaded one of them and is now waiting to behead the second unless the ISIS demand is met.

I would pay a significant price to be able to see him in a reverse role here. I was saying just today. What country could we hand him over to that would publicly execute him. Because I think we can agree death by injection would be too humane for him. Unless we were injecting rock salt or something similar into his veins. He is the cowardly face of evil. And he should die accordingly.

Sorry if I am offending some of my Christian friends here. But this is the devil. And if I'm not mistaken, Christians are at war with the devil. Here he is. In the flesh. Satan. Only he uses a knife instead of a pitchfork.

OK a little fun here with KSM and Michael Moore.

All snipers are cowards huh? How's this Michael? You two have much in common. You both basically hate America and I'm sure that KSM would agree with you about snipers. He would argue that suicide bombers are much braver than snipers.

KSM is by far the homeliest woman on the planet.

Please enjoy the weekly humiliation of the mastermind terrorist who killed 3,000 innocent civilians on September 11th, 2001.
Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM), the mastermind behind 9-11 the captured Al Qeada ICON is getting his weekly slap in the face. You're welcome KSM fans.

* Note to self: Must pick up a case of push-up bras at Home Depot this week.

And Happy Birthday to all you January birthdays!
Especially Kody Grondin January 25th, 2015!
and Kelly Ciarmataro on January 28th, 2015!
*Facebook no longer gives me the weekly birthday updates.
They only send me daily ones. Sorry.

Please keep my sister Evamarie in your thoughts and prayers and send positive thoughts to our dear friend Meghan Evans and family. Also say a prayer for my good friend Robert Gerard. And please pray for Rick Fiorentini.

Please add them all to your prayer list. Thank you.

Please Support ALL The photographers who contribute to Ralph's Pic Of The Week every

A Wave a day for 365 consecutive days.
Yesterday- Skip Brunette Winter 2000.
(Below) I remember this day very well. There were only fours guys out that afternoon. The wind was howling off shore and the air temps were single digits. Only the rights were working that day at this spot. The other three were Billy Ritchie, Kevin Grondin, and Lenny Nichols. Skip got some real nice rights and ripped them the whole way. This is from the movie 13 POINT 5. What's really hard to believe is this was 15 years ago. Where does the time go? Check out Skip's new CD "HERE WE GO" from his band Todo Bien. todobienmusic.com

SURF FREE OR DIE Movie Trailer for 13POINT5 from
Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

Back in 2003 and 2004 I made a surf movie about the Surf here in NH. I called it 13POINT5. That's how many miles we figured are actually surfable here in NH.

The whole coast is just under 18 miles.

This is a Trailer for that movie. The trailer is just empty waves. The movie itself has plenty of surfing and other antics. These are just a sampling of empty waves.

This movie is one of 18 movies on the SFOD label.

The music is by Porcupine Tree.

check it out...
