They now want to make a movie about New England Patriots and Tom Brady. What? Great surf this week. And Trump has a press conference that still has people shaking their heads.

So, I made a comment the day after the Super Bowl. I was still on cloud nine when I wrote that "In the future they will make a movie about this. " But I meant in the way future, like 10 20 years from now. But, the big wigs in Hollywood can smell a hit when they see one. And this would be a hit in New England, but I'm not so sure about the rest of the country. My fear is the haters will become enraged. I can see them getting organized, and attacking New England.

Forget about the Wall on the Mexican border, we will need one around New England. We will have to form our own Militia. It would be like the Revolutionary War. New anthems will be written, new battles will be fought, people on both sides will be killed and wounded.

Those guys with their muskets at all Patriots home games, will now carry live ammo and bayonets. It will be anarchy. I think they should wait until the buzz dies down a little bit.

Anyone but Mark Wahlberg. And as much as I like Matt Damon, he's just too short. We need a tall male lead. I'm not that familiar with the current crop of celebrities so I'm at a loss. I just know that he's got to be over 6' 2". Damon is only 5'11" that's not tall enough, unless they put him in heels. I guess that could work. As long as the other players don't tower over him.

Number 5 showed up this week. I got the package deal. Hat, tee shirt, and DVD "3 Games to Glory!" The DVD is forthcoming but I can wait.

And number Five fits in perfect with the family. All five hats. Gee, should I be making room for 6 & 7? Hmm, I better give this some thought come next September. Look, I am not a glutton. I am personally happy with five. It would be nice if some other team got one of these. So, maybe in a few years, we let the other teams feel this way. After all, 7 Super Bowl hats is enough.

Momentum is something usually saved for sports. But I have had such an incredible force of momentum as of late, that I'm finding it hard to believe it myself. I've shot, edited, and posted 4 web edits in six days. All four of these are down in the video section. Even Nick McGregor from ESM is blown away by it all. Truth is, we've had some really good surf. And we have some really good surfers. And I've been doing this for the better part of 50 years. I am as stoked of documenting surf as much as I am on surfing itself. I have made a conscious decision this year, to not surf in the winter in New England. I've done my share of winter surfing.

I will surf in the tropics in the winter, but not here. I will however shoot.

I love shooting both video and stills. I know when to pull the trigger and when to back off. I can hear the soundtrack in my head during my shooting sessions. I admit, I am a conceptual artist, where I use themes related to the swells, and the dates. It might not work every single time, but the times it does, is a tremendous payoff. Making mini movies is a passion. Same with getting a good still. I did the latter this week and was surprised by the reaction I received on two of these images.

I guess I am always pleasantly surprised at the way certain people react to my work. I am truly thankful and grateful that so many of you like my work.

This week's pic from Ed's corner was shot on September 14th, 2013.
It's Jake and Max goofing around. Jake was unable to surf due to a nagging injury, but he was still able to paddle out on his stomach, and ride a few. Surfing is supposed to be fun. It sure looks like they are both having fun here.

To see more of Ed's pics just scroll through the archives. He has shot so many pics for the blog. Each week I will feature one of Ed's great pics from this blog. Photo by Ed O'Connell

Now for Some More Of My Weekly Global Observances
The President had an impromptu press conference on Thursday that has left the world shaking their collective heads. I swear, I have never seen anything like this. I mean, it's beyond words. I am baffled by this man. And try as i might to give him the benefit of the doubt, he just seems to be out of control. Look, I am no Hillary fan. I was not a Obama fan. I was clearly not a Bill Clinton fan. But this guy?

I am stunned by some of what I have heard and seen. Stunned.

And it's obvious he enjoys being this rude person. He thrives on it. His snide and snarky remarks, and the off handed insults are, I don't know. It's certainly not presidential. It's like being in High School or something. It's crazy. I can only wonder what the other world leaders are thinking. I know what we think when we see some unhinged dictator spewing all kinds of shit out of their tiny craniums. So, I'm guessing they feel the same.

It's like he can't help himself. It's borderline tourettes. Only he's not swearing. Not yet any way. Would any of you be surprised if he did?

We could be witnessing a brand new disease. "TURUMP SYNDRONE" . Where one speaks without thinking, while repeating oneself over and over again. Usually within a single sentence.

You heard it here first people. Turump Syndrome.

Here's an IMPORTANT MESSAGE from the Rowlee Family.

Dear Molly Fund supporters,

I can't believe we are coming up on the end of our 6th year of The Molly Fund! Your generosity over the years has been overwhelming. Together we have donated close to $350,000 to Dana Farber for families with children battling cancer! Your donations have helped people right in our own little community.

But, we can do more.  We have decided that it is time to move all administration of The Fund to Dana Farber. IT WILL STAY THE SAME AS IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN, but now we won't have to pay for any expenses associated with running a non-profit (accounting services, board insurance and office supplies). 100% OF YOUR DONATIONS WILL NOW GO DIRECTLY TO FAMILIES. Dana Farber is a non-profit and your donation will still be tax deductible. They will send me notifications of donations so I can personally thank you, and send a sticker.

**Effective immediately, checks will now be made out to:
Dana Farber Cancer Institute with Molly Rowlee fund in the Memo line.

KSM Photoshop of the Week
So if they are making a movie about Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, and they are going to cover the "Deflate Gate " bullshit, they will certainly have to have a "Roger Goodell" actor. But who? Who could play this disgusting piece of shit human being? Of course, why didn't I think of that. Wait, I did. KSM would be a perfect Roger.

Am I right people? "ROGER THAT!"

So my friends, please take advantage of this weekly photo shop of the mastermind who planned 9-11 and resulted in the deaths of 3,000 innocent civilians by KSM (Khalid Sheik Mohammed).

(Below) This was Abe Lincoln's last tropical vacation before he was assassinated. Not many people knew he was a surfer. Truth be told he was a borderline kook. He took up surfing to get away from his crazy wife. Yes, he met a few beach babes, but nothing ever happened. He just wanted to hang on the beach in Waikiki, surf, and sing songs with the local Beach boys.
Not sure who these girls are, but it's obvious they were smitten with the big guy. Happy Presidents day Abe.

SNOW DAY 2-16-17 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

Another Snow Day in February. I've lost count on how many this makes. I only know that my snow blower died and I'm hand shoveling two driveways. Ugh. But look, I'm not complaining (much), the snow on the trees is a beautiful sight. Surfing in the snow has always been appealing to those of us who live and surf here. And it's always been a treat for those of you who don't. I have to say I love this soundtrack. It's by BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE. They remix Hendrix riffs and vocals and add their own instruments. Really cool. Oh and the surfers? Well, the one's I can remember are: Skip Brunette, Matt Colby, Perry Reynolds, Andy Elliott, Mark Jowett, and Gilly Donatelli. There are a bunch of guys I couldn't ID. So check it out, you might be in this edit. Hope you "dig it"

VALENTINE ROCK 2-14-17 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

February 14th, 2017 and I find the biggest heart shaped rock ever. Actually, I found it years ago, but have been waiting for a reason to use it in one of my web edits. And today my friends would be reason enough. After all, it's Valentine's Day. A day when we tell those we love that we love them. And not for nothing, we say we love each other every single day. We don't need a day to remind us to say love. I chose the song "It's Love" by my favorite band next to the Beatles and Hendrix, KING'S X. Those guys are the real deal. The surfers include: Joel Feid, Gilly Donatelli, Max Fatello, Chris Stelman, Andy Elliott, Marky J, Peter Stokes, and a bunch of Jersey boys. Be sure and get your sweethearts some sweets. Happy Valentines Day baby!

Winter Storm ORSON February 13th, 2017 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week
on Vimeo.

Winter Storm ORSON hit on the 12th and 13th of February 2017. We got about 10" of the white stuff, and about 2" of the wet stuff. The combination of snow and rain equals CEMENT. Took forever to dig our asses out, but once we did, we hit it down the street to shoot the surf. It started snowing again. Ugh. So I shot from the passenger side window. It's 90% Kai Nichols out there. The song is one I've waited 30 years to use in some kind of a video. It needed to be dark and foreboding and it was.
Thank You Orson you mean SOB.

The SNOW MOON Swell 2-10-17 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

The day started out with a beautiful layering of white fluffy snow. Perfect for both snow boarding and shoveling. There was a nice clean swell running. So I hit it to the Wall. Kai Nichols, Kody Grondin, and Max Fatello got it practically to themselves. There were a couple of youngsters that I didn't recognize. The surf was clean as a whistle but damn was it ever cold. Single digits cold. The wet sand was actually a thin layer of ice. Kody shows us all what that can do, to the unknowing, at the end of this clip. Later that day, the Snow Moon rose up out of the ocean and it was beautiful. As is the song "Lenny" by SRV.
Hope you like it.

The NOR'EASTER January 24th & 25th, 2017 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

What can I say? I love NOR'EASTERS! Love them more than Hurricanes. Hell, I named my band The Nor'easters. We were a Blues Rock band. And we sounded like a Nor'easter. I shot over 8 different breaks between the 24th and 25th of January 2017. The clip is longer than the usual web edits, but there were so many good waves and so many good surfers, I tried to get everyone in. The surfers that I can remember are: Kai Nichols, Stevie O'Hara, Phil Carey, Alex Orestis, DJ, Kyle Linseman, Kenny Linseman, Chris Stelman, Andy Elliott, Max Fatello, Todd Preble, Jared Veltsos, Toby Parke, Johnny Meehan, Ryan Jackson, and a bunch of unknowns (those I couldn't ID). Music is by Walter Trout and SRV. I chose these guys because that's what Nor'easters sound like.
