The Snow Is Melting. Marathon Bomber Guilty.
April 15th, marks my 11th year blogging! Yay me.
And the surf keeps coming!!

The snow, the relentless snow, is melting. Though the other day, more snow came and we all wanted to break down and cry. But we're bigger than that. We're hearty New Englanders. We can handle anything that Mother Nature and Old Man Winter can throw at us.
Though this did seem cruel.

April 8th, 2015...it snowed and snowed and covered the ground.
But alas, it was only one last bitch slap from the old man Winter.
The snow is really melting. Really.

Hope you all had a nice Easter and Passover. I forgot how much food there is at Easter. Damn. I am seriously trying to shed some pounds. Easter did not help my cause.

I want to be able to fit into a wetsuit and look OK. The wetsuit is not your friend if you are carrying a few extra pounds. There's no way to hide the weight in a wet suit. I mean you just can't hold your breath for that long.

This look familiar? I feel your pain. I am on my own diet and
exercise plan. I did it when I surfed during my Molly campaign.
I lost over 20lbs. Stopped eating crap and walked and ran in the woods like a mad man. It was good for me and my dog.

I am 180 and want to get down to 165-160. It is attainable.
If you discipline yourself. Pain is necessary. You can't lose weight without some pain and discomfort (my way that is). It is worth it. Especially if you want to catch waves like this.

I shot this gem on Saturday morning. How big? Chest high.
And it was a every bit as hollow as it looks here. It was a small tube fest for the boys out there. The wind blew pretty hard out of the
NW/W but other than that it was a great little session for those
who scored it.

The day before was crazy. Rain and fog. Though, the surf was good
(if you could see it). It was head high with some overhead sets coming in out of the fog and rain. I actually used my umbrella while shooting. I felt like Mary freaking Poppins. But I got some shots and
I stayed dry. And I was really surprised that I kept the camera so steady. I was only using one hand.

So I didn't win any surf photographer fashion points. Who cares?

This coming Wednesday will be my 11th year blogging. Now don't go out and get me something special. I mean I'm just not worth it. Unless it's cash or a new board and wetsuit. But nothing bigger than that please. All kidding aside, it's hard to believe I've been doing this week after week for 11 years. I plan on doing this for at least a few more years. I'd like to make it to 15 years if possible.

I'm back at my new favorite place to play next week. Flatbread.
They have a cool set up up now for the musicians who play there.
If you're not doing anything that night you should stop by for a drink and a Flatbread and hear some free tunes.

My old bass player from SEMPER FI and BHD will be joining me. Rich Appel and I have traveled up and down the eastern seaboard playing rock and roll. Rich was with me when we opened for ELP at the Meadow Lands in 1986. It was fun playing for 25,000 people. And it's just as much fun playing for my friends and family here in Hampton.

Hey don't forget this. Friday night at the Ashworth. It's going to be good. This sounds like a good story and I'm sure the surfing is off the hook. Try and make it down.

Friday, April 17th, 2015 at the ASHWORTH HOTEL on Hampton Beach. The doors open at 6:30 and the event starts at 7:30

Hope to see you all there.

Now for Some Of My Weekly Global Observances
I am happy that this loser coward was found Guilty on all 30 counts. Next up is the sentencing. I really hope he gets the Death Penalty. And he can join his older brother with the 72 virgins party.

Except, most losers on Death Row end up staying there for the rest of their lives. I suppose the thought of being on Death Row as opposed to being Life in Prison is daunting enough. I am hoping they hand down execution for this coward.

How could anyone do this? Place a bomb next to an innocent
child and innocent spectators. It is beyond me. Cowards.

I heard that Hillary is running for President. Shocking news.
My guess is she will beat whoever else is running on both sides
of the ticket. Is America ready for a woman president?
Why the hell not? Get ready for the Clintons Act II

As always, my weekly humiliation of KSM knows no boundaries.
Here we see KSM with the two Marathon Bomber losers.

So once again, please enjoy the weekly humiliation of the mastermind terrorist who killed 3,000 innocent civilians on September 11th, 2001.
Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM), the mastermind behind 9-11 the captured Al Qeada ICON is getting his weekly slap in the face. You're welcome KSM fans.

* Note to self: Must pick up a case of Body Hair removal at Home Depot this week.

We welcome all Surf Related pics from our Readers. Just make sure they are at least 900 pixels wide. If you have any OLD photos of local New England surfers and or of local New England surfing, we would love to see them and share them with our readers.

We can scan them for you. And we get them back to you undamaged. Trust me. We can do this...people love the older stuff. So if you have any, please send 'em along. If you have prints/slides we can scan them for you.

And we don't care if you shoot pics with with your cellphones. I mean it. Most of the images you see on the news and on the Internet were shot with them Smart Ass Phones. So shoot and ask questions later.

PR Winter 2014 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

This is the footage I shot in March of 2014. There's some Big Tres here and some other funky little spots. *Note The large surf at Wildos is worth the price of admission alone. There's additional footage from Max.

The music is from Miguel Tito Rodriguez. I met Miguel in Rincon last winter. He was playing outside with his bass player and I was completely blown away by his playing. The song is called De Juno. The man can rip on the six string. I hope you like this little Tropical Clip.

THE LAST WINTER STORM of 2015. Shot on Monday, March 16th, 2015

This will end up being the last Winter Storm of 2015. Starting on Sunday March 15th, 2015 the snow gave us a NEW record for snowfall in one season. The next day Monday March 16th, 2015 gave way to blue skies, and green waves, with brisk offshore winds.

The surfers were: Casey Lockwood, Matt Colby, Weston Rogers, Jared Hay, Kyle Linseman, Britt Swartley, and Max Fatello. The music is by my nephew Jesse QWILL Ciarmataro. It was recorded live and Jesse is playing all the instruments. *Listen to his guitar riffs. A special nod to his uncles Ralph and Johnny. I also shot a bunch of stills today. Hope you enjoy this last Winter Swell of 2015.

Winter Storm MARCUS in Black and White from SFOD/Ralph's Pic Of The Week February 10th, 2015.

My first B&W clip since the 80's. The local boys were tearing it up out there. Weston Rogers, Stevie O'Hara, Max Fatello, Dave Cropper, Kevin Grondin, Phil Carey, Peter Stokes, Casey Lockwood, and Roger Beal. The tune is by LZ and it kicks. Just one more in the winter storm series. Hope you like it.

Well seeing how winter storm MARCUS was a 4 day swell and each day was significant, I shot more that I typically would shoot. I had posted the first MARCUS clip last week. It was a Black and White clip. My first B&W in many years. This was all shot on February 12th, 2015. It was snowing pretty heavy by the end of the day. What else is new? We've had a crazy winter here in New Hampshire. The surfers are the usual suspects. Weston Rogers, Dave Cropper, Perry Reynolds, Max Fatello, Peter Stokes, Lenny Nichols, Kevin Grondin, and a bunch of others. The music is by Jimi Hendrix. It's short but sweet. I hope you like it.

Thanks

Ralph
